Optimized-IMG_9707“The Pastore Maremmano Abruzzese, the Maremma Sheepdog, originated in Italy where it has been used for centuries as a flock guardian for sheep and goats. It was first imported into the United States for this purpose in the 1970’s. Since then, the Maremma sheepdog has continued to increase in number and popularity. You’ll commonly hear them referred to as LGD’s (Livestock Guardian Dogs)”. Taken from the home page of the Maremma Sheepdog Club of America, www.maremmaclub.com

My Maremma’s guard my flock of Icelandic sheep and I have never had a predation problem with their presence. Seraphina and Cosmos, who are madly in love with each other are expecting another litter of puppies in the middle of May. They will be ready for new homes by the first of August 2014. I already have people reserving puppies, if you are interested, please call and always know I’m happy to answer any questions. I’m looking for great working homes for these puppies and for all to be happy.
